Payment and deposit
To confirm your booking I ask for a deposit of 20% of labour and materials. Payment must clear before work commences. I will then book your job in and hold the date for you. Once you have paid your deposit you have the right to cancel within 14 days should you change your mind, providing that I have not already started the work. Remaining Payment will become due on completion of the job, and within seven days of that date. If you decide to go ahead with the work, an invoice will be issued detailing payment.

Before Work Commences
All areas should be cleared as much as possible before work commences. Large items of furniture should be moved into the centre of the room. Window Coverings (Curtains, Blinds etc) should be removed, as should rugs, pictures and anything else that is not to be decorated. If this is not done in advance of the work commencing, a charge of £50 per hour and a minimum of £50 will be added to the final invoice. Any screws, picture hooks etc that you do not want to be removed and filled should be clearly marked.

The Quote
The Quote includes labour and materials. This is based on the specification agreed between you the client, and Claire Walker painting and decorating. If there is anything missing from the specification please let me know. The details can be adjusted accordingly.

Specifications and variation orders
The specification covers the work to be done, and has been drawn up on the basis of what can be seen by eye. Unless otherwise stated, surfaces are assumed to be reasonably stable and in tact. Once work has started, if it is found that this is not the case, the specification and schedule of work may change. I reserve the right to charge additional costs incurred in rectifying these issues. Wherever possible, clients will be consulted before any additional work commences, and approval of the additional work will be obtained.

Safety
Unless otherwise agreed, Materials and tools will be stored in the working area throughout the job and over night. For safety reasons, children and animals should be kept away from these working areas, and care should be taken when entering such an area. If you have a particular place you would rather have tools and products left out of working hours, please let me know.

Facilities
Please ensure that there are adequate facilities on site. This should include a toilet, hot and cold running water, a kettle and an area away from working areas to sit and eat. There should also be a suitable area for washing paint brushes and tools, and if you have a preferred space (i.e. utility room) please let me know.

Parking
I will require parking between 7:30am and 5pm. (timings may vary from job to job) If it is a permit area please insure that you can provide a permit for the days work will take place. If this is not done, any parking costs incurred will be added to the final invoice.
